Day when I cried!!

They say it’s hard to make a man shriek but yes today I sobbed!!! why???
My God retired today, he just said go and live without me,, but is it possible?? Though this day was inevitable but why today.???

Who would have thought 24 years back that there will be one lad for whom entire nation will cry when he will stop working. But yes this little boy came to the arena and acquired all the hearts, not only by his talent but by his virtue, ignominy, esteem and devotion he bought to the game. I will not talk about the landmarks he achieved in his career but in one line, "He had it all".

I called up my Mom when God was delivering the most difficult delivery of his carrier- His retirement speech, She said, "So what, so many players retire just add one more to the list". First I got vexed but then I realized she is living in reality and that her God is different, but for me, I was living in a dream world of my own which was ruled by my God and his miracles and who can consent to the fact that his/her God will be no longer with them. Today an era has come to an end, Cricket will not be same again. I feel pity for the next generation who will not be able to see what we, the chosen one, saw. I feel proud that we live on same land where Sachin lives, we both were on the same side and that we were able to witness history been written in right front of us. Yes, history will not repeat itself and there will be no second Sachin ever, but still who will satisfy my urge to see the eminence I saw in this man, I remember a famous quote from former Indian captian, Azhar

"The more I see him, the more I want to see him"

Can God retire???

Have we forgotten or just trying to divert!!!!

Not so long ago, every time my mom asked me while I was watching a match,"Sachin ka score kya hua???".

I used to get irritated first to see only one player in everybody's mind, that time I was a kid and was a fan of cricket (not Sachin). Sachin was far away from my mind, because I myself was very far away reality. Only thing that came to my mind was that some how India win those matches. At adolescence who thinks which player is scoring more runs, whose got better strike rate, average for that matter, the only thing we think is that your country is winning but it is till the time you don't know anything about the game and once we know about it or start having some clue, we decide our own players, our own favorites.
I am not that much facts freak and also I have a problem remembering the exact score (for that you have Google I guess), but this devotee got his glimpse of God in 1998, yes it was the Sharjah, and the team was Australia. I was getting goose bumps when Sachin was at the non strikers end , was praying that please no more wickets from this end, the other guy is playing so amazing just give him the strike. I didn't knew on, off drives, cut, hooks at that time, all I knew was boundary and sixes and this man was scoring them at will, almost every over. We won and he got the man of the match, next day at school I was so happy as if it was me who won the Match for India, I was asking all my friends ,"Kya tune wo shot dekha tha??", as if I had played those glistering shots. On that particular day, one more fan was added to the list of admirers of the God, though a small one.

Lots of series after that , more runs , many more centuries , many more milestones and much more fondness for him in me but when he was going through his purple patch (tennis elbow, drop in form in 2006-07, humiliating loss in World Cup), I was one of those fan who started to think of his retirement.  But just like the Sand in the hand, that time passed away and he was back in form, as it is always difficult to hold the lion, the hungry lion after he saw raw flesh. Can you believe 7 times he was dismissed b/w 90-100 in that year, I mean that's the number of centuries many good players make in their whole carrier. He was back among runs and mouths were shut again, they were slammed, banged by his innocence and his devotion towards the game. Those 2 match winning knocks in CB series final, most number of test runs etc etc followed in next few years. I was no longer fan of him , I started praying for him, and people say when you pray for someone that means you love him, and just tell me who doesn't love Sachin. I was in my college the day India was playing South Africa at Gwalior, where this little maestro achieved a landmark of scoring double century which was latter replicated only by his half clone. Then on 3rd April 2011,after winning the world cup, his and whole Indian dream, I remember few players from Indian team carrying Sachin on their shoulders after winning the world cup and enjoying the victory lap. Someone asked Virat why is it so, he replied by saying that this man carried burden of team for 20 years can't we carry him for 20 mins. what will you call that, praise?? It was the respect they had for him. That was the last time I heard all people collectively praising Sachin.

After that World cup glory , few people thought that its the time he should retire, he has given us all. But don't you call that greed, don't you call that foolishness, of shifting the focus of the country from world cup to his retirement. They said he should make way for youngsters, as they were playing better than him. Then the drop in his form worked as if blunt knife been pushed into the chest of patient wanting to recover from leg injury. Those voices became more harsh, some more sheep join the flock and attacked the disheartened lion. They said he is not playing well, but what I saw was, he still hold the best average among the playing 11, so how can they say he is not good, may be here Sachin himself was at fault. They used to think if Sachin is scoring a hundred then only he is in form and if not, he is out of form. He was still scoring better than those kids who learnt what they were trying to do from the master himself.

But just after the dooms day , the day doomed. God declared he will not be blessing us more, sun declared it will not shine again and Sachin declared he will not wear blue again. I think we deserve that, master forbid us from watching him playing live one more time, one last time. Legend said he wants to give youngster a chance so he his resting his armour but was it his own decision.?? This question will always haunt his followers. why he didn't gave us one chance to give him the farewell  he deserved. Just after that India got defeated by arch rivals and the same people wished that the artist should come back in to salvage pride, to draw some more masterpieces. It's like first giving a man job because you want your work done, then after the work is complete you fired him and when again you found out that the man who was working for you is legend and your work will never complete without him, you want him back.

But now I want Sachin not to play again, we Indians don't deserve you. You have right to salvage you pride, you have your right to held your head high as you have served us(the avaricious creatures) who can do anything for own good, for more than 23 years and we are no one to poke our little fingers, raise our worthless voice in front of you. But at least give us a way so that we can repay you what you have done for us for so many years, just like we give Lord Ganesha, the possession just before he is about to leave us, we want to give you a bidding farewell.
